Technology Programme Director – Future ERP Commercial
Royal Mail is embarking on one of the most significant technology transformations in its history. As part of our Future ERP programme, we are replacing legacy, fragmented systems with a modern, integrated platform that will reshape how we operate for decades to come.
Within the Commercial domain, this transformation is critical. Today’s pricing, billing and revenue processes are constrained by static models, complex system landscapes and limited customer transparency. Future ERP will change that—introducing a fully integrated Customer‑to‑Cash capability that enables attribute‑based pricing, automation, accurate revenue capture and a far better customer experience.
The Opportunity
We are seeking an exceptional Technology Programme Director – Future ERP (Commercial) to lead the delivery of the Commercial workstream within this flagship transformation. This is a senior leadership role with end‑to‑end accountability for implementing SAP S/4HANA capabilities across pricing, billing, product configuration and revenue management.
You will shape and drive a multi‑year programme that is central to Royal Mail’s commercial evolution, partnering closely with senior leaders across Commercial, Finance and Technology. You will lead a multidisciplinary team of around 20 project managers, architects, business analysts and subject‑matter experts, as well as managing major supplier delivery.
Key Responsibilities
* Own the delivery of the Commercial workstream within the Future ERP programme, ensuring clear scope, milestones and measurable outcomes.
* Build and manage an integrated programme plan across Commercial, Finance and supplier teams, with strong control of dependencies, risks and issues.
* Operate robust governance and transparent reporting to support timely, informed decision‑making.
* Hold internal teams and suppliers to account for scope, schedule, cost, quality and risk commitments.
* Partner with senior Commercial stakeholders to align technology delivery with target pricing, billing and revenue processes.
* Ensure high‑quality solution design aligned to enterprise architecture, enabling automation, accurate pricing and data‑driven decision‑making through SAP S/4HANA.
* Work with Service Management to ensure operational readiness and a smooth transition into BAU.
* Lead, develop and inspire a high‑performing programme team.
* Ensure compliance, security and auditability across all Commercial deliverables.
About You
You will bring:
* A strong track record delivering large‑scale ERP or Commercial transformation programmes, ideally involving SAP S/4HANA.
* Deep understanding of pricing, billing, revenue management and product configuration processes.
* Proven leadership across complex, multi‑workstream environments.
* Strong commercial acumen and the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
* Demonstrated experience managing major suppliers.
* A commitment to secure, compliant and scalable technology solutions.
* The ability to lead, motivate and develop high‑performing teams.
