Theatre Nurse/Operating Department Practitioner
Vacancies have arisen for Band 5 Registered Nurses or Operating Department Practitioners to join our theatre team based between Berwick/Alnwick and Morpeth sites. The role supports our surgical and Endoscopy services for patients in our community, including day case Endoscopy, Orthopaedics, General Surgery, Dental, Podiatry, and Plastic Surgery.
Previous experience is advantageous; however, a comprehensive training package is available for newly qualified staff or those new to the theatre environment.
The successful candidate should be motivated, enthusiastic, and committed to delivering safe, high-quality care.
Full-time posts are available; part-time hours may also be considered.
Please note that we reserve the right to close this vacancy prior to the closing date once sufficient applications are received.
For Secondment roles, ensure you have the appropriate approval from your current manager and have completed the necessary documentation before applying, as this may delay the process if an offer is made.
Key responsibilities include delivering excellent standards of care, supporting patients throughout the peri-operative phase, undertaking scrubbed and circulating roles, ensuring a safe environment, working with the multidisciplinary team, preparing and monitoring the environment and equipment, and supervising junior staff and students.
We operate across three major hospitals in North Tyneside, Wansbeck, and Hexham, along with smaller community hospitals and clinics, and the Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital. Our services extend into the community, providing care in patients' homes and local health centers. Our goal is to deliver high-quality patient care with an exceptional experience for every patient and service user.
