Job summary
We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic, and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to work in the Admissions lounge at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary. The Admissions lounge handles the admission process for elective surgeries, including general surgery, colorectal, breast, urology, ENT, Max-fax, and Orthopaedics.
As a Healthcare Assistant, you will:

Main duties of the job
You will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary team members to ensure safe service delivery for patients and staff, participating in all aspects of the admission process. Full support will be provided to help you achieve your developmental needs.
We encourage teamwork to achieve the best outcomes and will support you in identifying individual learning needs relevant to the area.
The Admission Lounge is a nurse-led unit. Main duties include completing admission paperwork on Lorenzo, conducting E-outcome observations, performing ECGs if needed, and venepuncture.
You will work under the direct supervision of a qualified nurse but will manage your own patient caseload.
This is a Monday to Friday service, 7AM-5PM.
About us
We operate from three main hospitals: Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, along with community healthcare facilities including Millom Hospital, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.
FGH and RLI offer a range of general hospital services, including Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units, and various specialist services.
WGH provides general hospital services, an Urgent Treatment Centre, and outpatient and inpatient care.
All three hospitals provide planned care, outpatient diagnostics, therapies, day surgery, and inpatient surgery, along with outreach services across Morecambe Bay.
