ACP Freight Services started out as a specialist in providing high quality road freight transport services between the UK and Europe, and in response to the ever-changing needs of our customers, we have since adapted to provide additional crucial services. These additional services include our new sea and air freight department, and our in-house customs team.

JOB PURPOSE
Supporting day to day management of Sea and Air services; to effect the relay of information between customers and subcontractors, ensuring accurate and profitable operation of the Sea and Air department.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Arrange export and import movements via sea and air freight (FCL, LCL and cross-trade). Liaise with overseas partners, shipping lines, hauliers and agents to ensure all transportation details are correct and all parties are kept informed throughout transit, and ensure they are advised of any delays or changes in schedules.
* Maintain / develop good working relationships with existing and new customers.
* Quote customers for potential future work, checking compatibility and availability, and providing guidance on services where required.
* Negotiate rates with carriers and customers to secure the booking.
* Daily contact with all subcontractors to gather status updates for all loads in transit including ETA's and update the transport software accordingly ensuring all collections and deliveries are on schedule.
* Create / Update Orders and Business Partners on the transport software as required.
* Process and check all required paperwork such as bill of lading, air waybill, invoices etc. Upload all instructions, documents and emails to the relevant order.
* Carry out credit search on any potential new Customers, forwarding Customer details onto Accounts if accepted.
* In the event of an incident possibly leading to an insurance claim you must add all necessary details onto the transport software and forward details to the claims' email.
* To take reasonable care for the health and safety of self and others who may be affected by acts or omissions related to your work. Cooperate fully with the management of the Company with regard to any duty or requirement imposed on them by the relevant Health and Safety legislation to allow that duty or requirement to be carried out or complied with.
* Any other reasonable duties and responsibilities considered appropriate by the management of the Company.
QUALIFICATIONS AND / OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
REQUIRED
Minimum of 3 years' experience in sea and air exports
Previous experience with sea and air imports, and export documentation such as: bills of lading, airway bills, certificates of origin, etc.
Minimum of 3 GCSE's at C and above, including English and Mathematics or equivalent
Experienced in Microsoft Office including Excel, Outlook and Word
Good written and spoken English
Excellent communication skills
A positive and proactive attitude
DESIRABLE
A second language
Compliance with global customs regulations related to documentation
We ask that all candidates have a maxmium commute time of approximatley 30 minutes or less.
