About The School
Stonelaw High School is one of 17 secondary schools throughout South Lanarkshire Council. The council covers Clydesdale, Cambuslang, Rutherglen, Blantyre, Uddingston, East Kilbride, and Hamilton. The school has approximately 1,000 pupils and 72 full-time staff, offering a wide range of educational experiences from traditional subjects to extra‑curricular activities, school trips, and visits. It has achieved national awards and supports pupils' progression to higher education and employment.
Duties
* Lead, manage and support the work of colleagues, providing strategic direction and guidance as necessary;
* Lead curriculum development and quality assurance;
* Contribute to the development of school policy regarding pupil behaviour management;
* Review and support colleagues’ professional needs and performance through career‑long professional learning;
* Lead, implement and manage whole school policies, including guidance, pastoral care and behaviour support where required.
Principal teachers are provided with a reduction in weekly classroom contact to enable them to carry out these duties, with the overall work within a 35‑hour week.
