JAB Recruitment is supporting a major international engineering and operations services organisation in the search for an Operations Director – Managed Assets.
This is a senior leadership role responsible for supporting the safe, efficient and commercially successful delivery of operations across a global portfolio of energy assets. Working within a matrix structure, the position partners with regional operational leadership teams to strengthen operational performance, governance and delivery capability across multiple international jurisdictions.
The role focuses on influencing operational excellence across contracts rather than directly holding line responsibility for asset operations. The successful candidate will act as a senior operational advisor, helping regional teams resolve complex operational challenges, improve performance and ensure consistent standards of safety, reliability and regulatory compliance.
This position requires a leader who can operate confidently across disciplines and geographies, bringing together technical, operational and commercial expertise to support contract delivery and organisational growth.
Key Responsibilities
Provide senior operational guidance across a portfolio of managed asset operations contracts, supporting regional teams in delivering safe, compliant and efficient operations.
Act as a trusted advisor on operational performance, asset integrity, production reliability and operational risk management.
Support operational leadership teams in addressing complex technical and operational challenges while maintaining strong safety and regulatory standards.
Work closely with multidisciplinary teams including engineering, maintenance, supply chain, commercial and HSE to ensure integrated operational support.
Promote consistent operational frameworks, governance processes and performance management approaches across contracts.
Contribute to operational strategy during new contract pursuits, ensuring delivery models are technically credible and operationally achievable.
Support the planning and coordination of asset transitions, contract mobilisations and operational change initiatives.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on operational efficiency, reliability and long-term asset performance.
Support workforce planning, capability development and recruitment of senior operational talent where required.
Encourage strong collaboration and knowledge sharing across international operational teams.
Candidate Profile
We are seeking an experienced operational leader with a strong background in asset operations within the energy sector.
The successful candidate will bring extensive experience supporting operational delivery across complex assets, ideally gained within an international operating environment.
Candidates should be comfortable operating within a matrix structure and influencing senior stakeholders across multiple disciplines and regions.
A strong understanding of asset integrity, operational risk management and production performance is important, along with the ability to balance operational priorities with commercial considerations.
Experience working closely with operators, asset owners or major service providers is highly desirable.
A degree in engineering or a related discipline is preferred, although significant operational leadership experience will also be considered.
