Purpose and objectives of the role
The PCB Operations Manager oversees all aspects of printed circuit board manufacturing operations, including production planning, process optimization, quality control, equipment maintenance, and team leadership. This role ensures that PCB production meets performance, quality, and safety standards while aligning with the company’s goals for efficiency and continuous improvement.
Main duties and responsibilities
* Oversee day-to-day PCB manufacturing operations, ensuring adherence to production schedules and quality standards.
* Lead and manage production teams, including supervisors, technicians, and operators.
* Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices for PCB fabrication and assembly.
* Coordinate with engineering, quality assurance, procurement, and logistics to ensure seamless operations.
* Monitor KPIs and production data to identify areas for improvement in throughput, yield, and cost.
* Ensure compliance with IPC standards, ISO certifications, and other industry regulations.
* Manage inventory of materials and components to prevent shortages and minimize waste.
* Drive lean manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement (e.g., Six Sigma, Kaizen).
* Maintain and optimize equipment and machinery used in PCB production.
* Prepare and present reports to senior management regarding production performance, issues, and improvement plans.
* Support new prototype manufacturing and scaling of prototype to production volumes.

Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with ISO 9001, AS9100, or other quality systems.
* Certification in Lean Six Sigma or related methodologies.
* Experience of working in fast paced high precision manufacturing environment.
Skills
* Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
* Highly organised with great attention to detail/accuracy.
* Able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
* To be able to work as a team but also work independently.
Experience
* 5+ years of experience in PCB manufacturing, with at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role.
* Strong knowledge of PCB fabrication and related industries
* Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems, production planning, and lean manufacturing tools.
* Proven track record in driving operational excellence and process improvement.
