The Role:
As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will work within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver electrical systems for machinery projects from concept through to commissioning and after-market support. This role is ideal for an engineer with hands-on experience in industrial electrical systems, looking to contribute to innovative automation projects and expand their expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and deliver electrical systems for custom and platform machinery projects.
Produce wiring diagrams, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and technical documentation.
Support validation, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), and on-site installation.
Collaborate with Mechanical and Software engineers to troubleshoot and resolve machine issues.
Ensure compliance with European directives (Low Voltage, Machinery, EMC) and functional safety standards.
Assist in project procurement and liaise with suppliers.
Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering processes.Essential Skills & Experience:
Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
Hands-on experience with industrial electrical systems, control panels, and machine wiring.
AutoCAD Electrical or similar CAD software proficiency.
Knowledge of European directives and IEC (phone number removed).
Understanding of motion control technologies (servo drives, inverters).
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.Desirable Skills:
Experience with special-purpose machinery or regulated industries (pharmaceuticals/FMCG).
Beckhoff / Siemens control systems knowledge.
Functional safety design experience (ISO (phone number removed) or equivalent).
