Head of Legal
Location – Glasgow,Liverpool or London
You will be workingfor a very well-respected provider of engineering services. The organisation isUK-based and is a market leader within their field. They are private equitybacked by a firm with an exceptional track record. This business is at the forefrontof innovation, and has exciting growth plans, including tripling in size in thenext three years.
You will beresponsible for the legal function, as well as being in a fast-paced anddynamic working environment, and you will be a Senior Executive member withinthe business, reporting to the Chief Financial Officer with regular exposure tothe C-suite. You will contribute legally,mercially and strategically, andbe responsible forpliance with all relevant laws, GDPR regulations, andcorporateernance requirements.
In this position youwill be the Chief Advisor on any legal, corporate andpliance matters, tosupport the business. You will develop and implement thepany's legalstrategy in alignment with its overall objectives, monitor legal developments,and proactively advise on any potential impact on the business. You will beresponsible for legal risk management and provide first-class support across abroad range of issues includingmercial contracting, technology, corporate,regulatory,pliance and data privacy. The role will have a corporate focus,and you will work very closely with the Head of M&A.
You will be anEngland & Wales ormonwealth qualified lawyer, and have 8+ years PQE byway of a guideline only. You will need to have experience in dealing withsenior stakeholders and external counsel, and ideally have experience withinthe engineering sector (construction will also be considered). You will haveextensive experience with corporate law, and previously being a corporateassociate in private practice is a desirable requirement. You will be familiarwith working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and have experiencemanagingplex legal matters and providing strategic advice to seniorexecutives. You will be well versed in implementing new processes, for example,legal andpliance training programs, as well as having a growth mindset,goodmercial acumen and a pragmatic individual who is confident inexercising judgment in aplex business environment.
