Hitachi Europe Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT Infrastructure and Cloud Operations Team Lead to join our dynamic team. This role involves managing a team of 3 offshore resources and 3 onshore contractors, ensuring the secure and efficient operation of our IT services. Hitachi Europe is currently operating a hybrid environment of some on premise IT services in London data centres whilst operating an Azure Enterprise Scale Landing Zone and aiming for transition to cloud first adoption. This offers a fantastic opportunity for someone to work with a talented infrastructure team with deep technical knowledge and support the next step on Hitachi Europe technical transition. What you’ll be doing Team Management: Lead and support a team of 6, including 3 offshore resources and 3 onshore contractors. Allocate work responsibilities and provide guidance to team members. IT Infrastructure Management: Oversee the management of Windows OS environments, Cisco networking, BT MPLS, and internet service providers. Data Centre and Communications Hub: Manage and maintain data centre operations and communications hubs. Cloud Operations: Implement improvements and manage existing Azure enterprise-scale landing zone and support further cloud functions. Some DevOps and coding experience is required. M365 Tenant Support: Provide support for Hitachi Microsoft 365 tenant environment. Service Operations: Ensure secure operations of IT services following ITIL principles. Support escalations from Helpdesk to Operations 2nd line and where needed escalating to 3rd line team or utilizing support contracts as needed. Change Management: Operate weekly CAB (Change Advisory Board) meetings to manage changes effectively. International Collaboration: Communicate effectively with teams across Europe and engage with colleagues in Japan. VMware and SAN Management: Manage VMware environments and Storage Area Networks (SAN). Cloud Transition: Lead the transition from traditional on-premise infrastructure to cloud-native technologies. The role will be a mixture of remote-hybrid work with 1 day in the Hitachi Office with travel to Datacentres in Hounslow and central London. The office location is Hitachi Europe Ltd, Botanica Ditton Park, Riding Court Road, Datchet, SL3 9LL The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and background: Required Skills and Experience: Technical Expertise: Strong background in IT infrastructure, including Windows OS, Cisco networking, BT MPLS, internet service providers, VMware, and SAN. Cloud Skills: Proficiency in Azure enterprise-scale landing zones, DevOps, coding, and M365 tenant support. ITIL Knowledge: Familiarity with ITIL principles and best practices for IT service management. Team Leadership: Proven experience in managing and leading teams, both onshore and offshore. Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in an international environment. Cloud Transition Experience: Demonstrated experience in transitioning from traditional on-premise infrastructure to cloud-native technologies. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications in IT infrastructure, cloud operations, VMware, SAN, and ITIL are highly desirable.
