We are looking for a People & Culture Advisor to join the People & Culture Team at Thermatic. We’re seeking an experienced, enthusiastic HR Advisor to deliver generalist HR support across the business, with a focus on supporting our dispersed, remote engineering workforce within a Technical Facilities Management setting. Travel across the UK (approx. once per quarter, including overnight stays) is required to support in-person engagement. This is an exciting role with a lot of potential to offer for the right person. About Thermatic Technical FM: We provide full UK coverage across Hard FM services to large commercial clients. Our mobile engineers are supported by account teams at our Head Office, delivering reactive and planned maintenance. Partner with operational leaders to support workforce planning, employee engagement, and team development initiatives. Support recruitment and onboarding processes, including those tailored for mobile and field-based teams. Coordinate employee relations cases (e.g., disciplinaries, grievances, investigations) with professionalism, fairness, and clarity. Support the digitalisation of HR processes through automation and AI tools to enhance efficiency and employee experience. Contribute to the development and deployment of people analytics, reporting on trends such as retention, engagement, and performance. Support delivery of training, performance reviews, and personal development plans across office and remote teams. Drive inclusion and wellbeing initiatives that reflect the challenges of field-based work, such as loneliness, safety, and flexible working. Champion employee voice and engagement, using innovative digital tools to ensure field engineers are heard and supported. Assist in embedding the company’s values in day-to-day people practices and communications. Support social value initiatives through recruitment, apprenticeships, and community-based employment programmes. Play an active role in digital transformation and change initiatives affecting people & culture. Experience & Qualifications: Experienced HR generalist with time spent in a People & Culture Advisor role. CIPD Level 5 (desirable) Experience supporting remote, technical, or operational workforces, ideally within a FM, engineering, or construction setting. Sound understanding of UK employment law, HR policies, and employee relations. Demonstrable experience of turning information into action to deliver positive engagement and process improvements. Awareness of the operational need and challenges of a remote or mobile workforce. Knowledge of digital HR systems and AI/automation tools that enhance the employee lifecycle. Understanding of diversity, inclusion, wellbeing, and engagement practices. Familiarity with GDPR and data protection in HR. Knowledge of change management and cultural transformation. Awareness of engagement, wellbeing, social value and ESG principles in a commercial business context. Involvement in HR digital transformation projects, AI, or automation implementation (desirable) Required Skills: Strong communication and relationship-building skills across all levels of the business, including remote employees. Ability to advise and influence with confidence and credibility. Skilled in using HRIS platforms (PeopleHR desirable), reporting dashboards, and communication tools (e.g., MS Teams, Sharepoint). Analytical and data-driven, with the ability to translate metrics into meaningful insight. Proactive, organised, and able to manage priorities across multiple projects and stakeholders. Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, commercial environment. Creative thinker with a passion for improving systems and people experiences.
