An exciting opportunity has arisen for you to join our 0-19 universal children's team. You will be part of the multi-skilled team supporting both Health Visitors and School Nurses. This role offers the opportunity to learn new skills and increase your knowledge and skill base. Working as part of a team, you will be expected to prioritize your workload and contribute to delivering quality healthcare and health promotion advice to babies, children, young people, and families in Redbridge.

You will work alongside HVs and SNs to deliver high-quality care and support to families within Redbridge. Responsibilities include:

1. Undertaking age-appropriate health reviews in CNN-led clinics.
2. Supporting and leading CNN-led healthy child clinics.
3. Assisting with the New Entry Medicals and National Child Measurement Programme in schools.

Requirements include:

1. The ability to recognize safeguarding concerns, work with families to improve health outcomes, and escalate concerns to managers when appropriate.
2. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
3. The ability to work autonomously while remaining part of the team.
4. Good planning skills to manage your workload within team allocations.

The role starts with NELFT, which values proper onboarding. All new starters will join on the first Monday of each month for a comprehensive induction at our head office in Rainham, Essex, lasting up to two weeks. This includes mandatory training, systems training, equipment allocation, and opportunities to meet senior staff and attend engagement sessions.

This position is subject to a probationary period, except for internal applicants or bank staff. It attracts a High-Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum £4,714, maximum £5,941), pro-rata for part-time staff. Please note, visa sponsorship is not supported; applicants must have valid right-to-work documentation in the UK.

Qualifications required include NNEB, CACHE, or an equivalent qualification, with robust child development knowledge and experience working with children and families. The post holder will support peers and team leaders, advocate for children and families, and liaise with other health and social care professionals and agencies. They will also support families by signposting to available resources within the borough.

Applicants are expected to prepare their application independently. Use of AI in applications is discouraged, as it may lead to rejection. Support for application writing is available for those with declared disabilities.

This advert closes on Sunday, 17 August 2025.
