The Barn Veterinary Practice, Wenham Road, Ipswich, East of England
We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive casual receptionist to join our team of 9 receptionists at our Ashcroft Road (IP1 6AA) and Barn (IP8 3EY) surgeries. The successful candidate will work at both locations, supporting the practice's daily operations and ensuring excellent client care.
This position involves covering holiday and sickness leave for our permanent staff, with hours varying month to month. A holiday pay top-up will be added to an hourly rate of £12.21.
About the role
The veterinary receptionist role is diverse; no two days are the same. You will be the first point of contact for clients, whether arriving at the practice or calling to book appointments or request medication. While a good understanding of veterinary practice is beneficial, it is not essential. Proficiency in computer work is required.
Main responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Liaising with clients and clinical staff to provide high-quality customer care.
* Greeting clients and their pets.
* Booking appointments and managing diaries.
* Handling telephone and email inquiries.
* Processing payments for services and products.
* Managing cash and end-of-day banking.
* Maintaining a clean and safe environment for clients and pets.
