Offer description

If all of the above objectives are met, a successful candidate will be placed into a band 5 position on appointment. Hours: 37.5 hours per week. All MKUH roles will be considered for flexible working.

Would you like a career where the limitation is your imagination? Does progression and opportunity relate to your personal drive of wanting to be the best you can be? As a Pharmacy Technician in hospital, you can make a difference in multiple areas ranging from clinical to management and from bands 4 to 8. We are looking for highly motivated individuals ready to take that next step and join a forward thinking and innovative Pharmacy Technician team here at Milton Keynes hospital that is continually progressing and growing.

To be eligible to join us in this role you will have successfully completed an NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services and hold current registration with the GPhC as a Pharmacy Technician at the time of appointment. Working closely with the Pharmacy Technician team manager and other members of the senior team, this excellent career development opportunity will suit both newly qualified and experienced Pharmacy Technicians as it will involve the post holder being supported to develop themselves in areas such as dispensary, clinical areas, technology, staff and service management. This will occur through fully funded opportunities via national accredited and recognised training courses. We are unable to offer sponsorship for this role.

Interview Saturday 1st January 2025

About Milton Keynes University Hospital

Milton Keynes University Hospital, in proud partnership with the University of Buckingham, is a University Teaching Hospital committed to advancing patient care through cutting‑edge research and education. With a 'Good' rating from the CQC and significant investment underway, this is an exciting time to join our team and grow your career.

As a medium sized general hospital, we provide a full range of general medical and surgical services, including a busy Emergency Department, Maternity, and Paediatrics. As the population of our city and surrounding areas continues to grow rapidly, we are expanding and enhancing our facilities to meet rising demand and improve access to care for all our communities. We are also proud to offer a growing portfolio of specialist services. In January 2025 we opened our state‑of‑the‑art Radiotherapy Centre, bringing advanced cancer treatment closer to home. Our services also include neonatology, specialist surgical care, and a wide range of diagnostics, supported by the new Community Diagnostic Centre at Whitehouse Health Centre. Further investment is underway, including the construction of Oak Wards – a new ward block featuring two 24‑bed wards – and the recently approved Women and Children's Centre, set to open by 2030.
