Production Operative / Forge Assembly Operative - Heavy Engineering

Salary: £27,000-£28,000 per annum
Hours: 40 hours per week (early finish every Friday)
Contract: Permanent, Full-time
About the Role
A long-established UK manufacturer based in North West London is seeking a reliable and hard-working Production Operative / Assembly Operative to join their heavy engineering and metalworking department.
This is a hands-on, physical role where you'll work with machinery, tools, and forged components to help produce high-quality metal parts used in specialist equipment.

Key Responsibilities
1. Operate and maintain workshop and forge equipment (training provided).
2. Assist with metal forming, pressing, and assembly of components.
3. Use hand and power tools safely to complete production tasks.
4. Carry out quality checks on finished parts to ensure high standards.
5. Follow health & safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE at all times.
6. Keep work areas clean, organised, and safe.
7. Work collaboratively with other team members and supervisors to meet production targets.
What We're Looking For
8. Previous experience in manufacturing, engineering, or metal fabrication preferred.
9. Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling and heavier tasks.
10. Good understanding of safe working practices in a workshop or factory environment.
11. Reliable, punctual, and able to work well as part of a team.
12. Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new skills.
13. Fluent in English (spoken and written) and comfortable following instructions.
