Our Client, A Large Public Sector Organisation require a Grounds Maintenance Skilled Operative to join their team.
Locations : Limavady
Hours of Work : 37 hrs per week Monday to Friday
Hourly Rate : 1--12 weeks £ 13 weeks £
Main Duties :
1. Undertake horticulture, gardening and general grounds maintenance works in Council facilities, public parks, sports grounds and similar open spaces, to the standards required.
2. To present a courteous attitude at all times by assisting with the promotion of good working relationships between Council staff and members of the public. If and as required, deal with on-site complaints and queries or refer to your line manager as necessary.
3. Ensure that the department complies with all statutory and legislative requirements by adhering to these requirements and working in accordance with good governance and health and safety requirements.
4. Ensure that all responsibilities are carried out in a timely and effective manner and that general confidentiality is maintained in all areas relating to the work of the Council.

Essential Criteria:
5. An NVQ Level 2 in Amenity Horticulture or equivalent qualification.
6. PA1/PA6 Certificate in weed control spraying.
7. Lantra (or similar) approved training in Grounds Maintenance Equipment.
8. Certified under NHSS Traffic Management Scheme.
9. OR
10. A minimum of 12 months' experience in each of the following areas:
11. Grounds maintenance, grass cutting and horticulture within a commercial (non-domestic) environment Set-up, safe use and routine maintenance of a range of horticultural equipment / machinery to include ride on grounds machinery;
12. Use of construction plant such as excavators (rubber wheeled and/or tracked), tractors (50HP+ utility) and telescopic handlers
13. General maintenance of outdoor areas parks;
14. Cemetery duties
15. Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and its application in the workplace to include working with a variety of plant and equipment.
16. A full current driving licence (Category C1 valid in the UK).
