Pay: £16.90 per hour
Hours: Full-time, term time only
Spencer Clarke Group are working with a welcoming rural primary school near Garstang to recruit a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant for a September start.
This is a fantastic long-term opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and is looking for a role that could develop into a permanent position.
The Role
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them to access learning, build confidence and develop socially and emotionally. You may be working 1:1 with a child, supporting small groups, or assisting the class teacher with wider classroom support.
You will be expected to:
Support pupils with SEN on a 1:1 and small-group basis
Help children engage with learning and classroom routines
Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation
Adapt support to meet individual learning needs
Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider school team
Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who is patient, proactive and genuinely passionate about helping children succeed.
Experience supporting children with SEN would be beneficial, particularly needs such as autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, SEMH or learning difficulties. However, candidates with transferable experience from care, youth work, residential support, sports coaching or childcare are also encouraged to apply.
Requirements
Experience working with children or young people
A calm, nurturing and resilient approach
Strong communication skills
A willingness to support pupils with a variety of needs
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one
Ability to travel to a rural school near Garstang
