Building Surveyor
Contract: Permanent
Salary: Up to £67,000
Location: Gloucestershire
A leading, socially driven housing provider is looking to appoint a Building Surveyor to join their Asset Management function. This is a mobile role, covering Gloucestershire and Herefordshire, so you'll need to be based within one of these areas.
You'll provide professional surveying and technical support, helping deliver a busy technical services programme spanning capital investment, cyclical works, fire safety, and statutory maintenance-delivered on time, within budget, and aligned to current legislation and best practice.
Key responsibilities
Deliver professional surveying support aligned to the organisation's Asset Management strategy
Support and/or lead delivery of technical services including:
Capital investment programmes
Cyclical maintenance
Fire safety works
Statutory compliance activity
Take ownership of contract administration across a range of major works projects, including:
Preparing tender documentation
Cost analysis and budgetary control
Site oversight / project delivery support
Supervising contractors
Quality control and certification
Ensure works are compliant with health & safety legislation, CDM regulations, and wider building statutory obligations
Travel frequently across the patch to oversee sites and support deliveryEssential requirements
Minimum HNC (Level 4) in a construction-related discipline (or demonstrable relevant surveying experience)
Strong, proven experience in a surveying role within a housing association, local authority, private practice, or similar environment
Proven contract administration capability across complex major works projects
Robust understanding of H&S legislation and CDM (including Principal Designer experience)
Strong working knowledge of building safety and compliance requirements and good practice
