Job Summary
As an Internal Audit team member, you will deliver objective assurance, support and advice to all levels of management across all operational areas and functional disciplines.
The role requires extensive regional travel and on‑site fieldwork, with overnight stays that may range up to 30‑40% of the time. Considerable personal and professional flexibility is essential.
Primary Responsibilities
* Evaluate and manage changes in the Taylor Wimpey control environment that impact the risk profile of the business and/or audit approach.
* Examine the design, operational effectiveness and efficiency of processes and internal control systems across all business functions.
* Coordinate with Key Stakeholders and Heads of Functions to ensure the IA team is fully aware of relevant information and that workplan and programmes are reflective of current business issues, policy and best practice.
* Recommend to senior management strategic and operational proposals to improve controls, mitigate risk and drive opportunities.
* Report to senior management on key issues in a timely, clear and concise manner.
* Drive continuous improvement based on review findings, customer feedback and collaboration with other organisational areas.
* Take ownership of and ensure delivery of the end‑to‑end audit process to a professional standard for a series of assignments that contribute to the overall audit plan.
* Manage Quality Control aspects of the IA function.
* Provide the Head of IA with regular updates on industry trends and potential risks through intelligence gathering and networking.
Experience, Qualifications, Technical Requirements
* Relevant qualification such as CA, ACCA, CIMA, CIA, CISA, CEng, Construction Management, Quantity Surveyor, MBA.
* Approximately 5 years of audit experience post‑qualification (internal or external audit).
* Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
* Knowledge of COINs and of relevant legislations such as General Data Protection, Property Misdescription, Anti‑competitive, Money laundering (advantage if available).
