A well established OEM of precision CNC machinery is recruiting for an experienced applications engineer to join their expanding team.
With a reputation for exceptional quality and reliability, their machine tools are globally recognised. They have a strong network of engineers across the UK, along with 2 additional technical support staff who are office based. They have a head office here in the UK for equipment storage, refurbishment and distribution, as well as a global headquarters outside of the UK where the equipment is built.
Benefits include an excellent base salary of £40 - £45K depending on experience, Company vehicle, mobile phone & laptop, 36 days holiday, private pension, healthcare, death in service, and yearly pay rises.
Responsibilities for the role include -
1. Design and preparation of customer demo’s and production cycle time estimations
2. Programming of multi axis lathes and mills, using CAM software and whilst at the machine
3. Assisting with brand new machine commissioning both at head office, and on-site with customers
4. Providing customers and end users with training, troubleshooting, and applications support
5. Process development, programme improvements, and overall continuous improvement to ensure customers receive the best possible service
6. Use of various types of CAM Packages for producing programmes
You’ll be working within an already established team of engineers, collaborating and working towards the same goal, so being able to work effectively with colleagues, as well as representing the brand on site with customers is absolutely essential.
A lot of travel will be required in this role too, so having the flexibility to cover various areas of the UK, and work away from home with overnight stays is also essential.
We would love to hear from you've previously worked in any of the following roles - - Applications Engineer, Turning or Milling Applications specialist CNC Programmer, CAM Programmer, CNC Manufacturing Engineer
- Ability to programme turning lathes, and ideally machining centres
- Strong knowledge of at least 2 types of CAM software packages
- Experience working with FANUC controls
- Willingness to travel nationally, and be prepared to stay overnight if required
- Clean driving license
The business are prepared to be as flexible and supportive as possible, overnight stays and extensive travel is ideally kept to a minimum, but the business requires someone who is prepared to do both when necessary. In return, the company can be equally flexible when needing time off or working around other engagements.
