A leading alternative provision in Nottingham is seeking a Designated Safeguarding & Attendance Lead to join their team on a permanent basis. The provision delivers high-quality vocational education to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students, supporting young people who benefit from a practical, relationship-led approach to learning.
Position Details:
Role: Designated Safeguarding & Attendance Lead
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Working Pattern: 8:30am – 4:30pm, Monday to Friday (term time only)
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead on safeguarding across the provision, ensuring policies and procedures are followed
* Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead, managing concerns, referrals, and safeguarding records
* Monitor and support student attendance, working closely with students, families, and external agencies
* Build strong, trusting relationships with students to promote engagement and wellbeing
* Work collaboratively with staff to maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment
* Maintain accurate records and support compliance and reporting requirements
Skills & Experience:
* Strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding practices
* Ability to build effective working relationships with students, colleagues, and professionals
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
* Strong administrative and organisational skills
* Experience within education, alternative provision, or a similar setting is desirable
