Your role
1. Monitor capital and revenue projects, consultants and contractors performance and liaise with other departments to ensure work is carried out promptly and in accordance with contract specifications.
2. Carry out inspections and surveys to assess requirements for capital projects in line with organisational policies and procedures to ensure health and safety regulatory compliance and contract performance.
3. Identify and commission targeted, value for money reinvestment plans to ensure the ongoing fit for purpose nature of the stock in support of Group objectives.
4. Manage contractors in accordance with their contractual terms, making recommendations for improvements and implementing actions as appropriate to ensure contract specifications continue to be met.
5. Ensure investment works are compliant with legislative and regulatory requirements and make appropriate recommendations on changes that may need to be made mid-project to ensure full compliance and consistent delivery of services.
6. Produce appropriate documentation for work specifications and tenders and provide accurate and timely information for management reports.
7. Carry out routine stock condition surveys in order for quality data regarding Homes to be held to inform robust investment decisions and to enable proactive management of maintenance issues.
8. Work with Regional Maintenance Managers to provide safe and well maintained environments to meet the needs of the customer and the business and ensure planned and reactive repairs and maintenance duties are carried out in in line with business specifications and legislative procedures.
Your skills
9. Recent experience of undertaking a similar role
10. Proven experience in a building and surveying environment
11. Proven experience of working to deadlines and prioritising work loads
12. Working knowledge of building regulations, legislation and current practices
13. Working knowledge of the application of Health and Safety legislation
14. Some experience in tendering, contract documentation and Construction Design and Management
15. Some experience of managing projects
16. Building related degree, relevant professional qualification or knowledge and ability at an equivalent level
17. HNC in Building and Surveying or similar
18. Qualified to MRICS / MCIOB Associate status or similar
19. Full current driving licence
