About The Role
We are seeking a Head of Grants Management to join our Financial Planning & Analysis unit, which provides timely financial planning and reporting across the organization. Managing a small team, you will deliver first-class financial support for over 160 grants and £32m of expenditure. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the grant lifecycle, conducting due diligence on grantees, preparing grant agreements and amendments, and managing payment schedules.
As Head of Grants Management, you will lead our grant management processes, ensuring compliance with standards and policies. You will advise colleagues to support successful, impactful programs, monitor grant statuses, analyze monthly variances, and manage foreign exchange exposure collaboratively to mitigate losses. Providing training and advice to grant issuing teams to ensure effective budget management and informed financial decisions will be key. Additionally, you will conduct due diligence on new grantees, follow up on actions, review existing grantees annually, and play a pivotal role in designing and implementing a new Grants Management System.
Requirements
* Hands-on experience in grant management
* Significant leadership and coaching experience
* Accountancy qualification (part or fully qualified) or qualified by experience, with exposure to compliance activities such as due diligence
* Passion for process management and continuous improvement
* Strong communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills
* Training and capacity-building skills
Benefits and Location
The salary for this role is £48,000. Our benefits include:

This is a hybrid role requiring 20% office presence at our UK head office, the Living Planet Centre in Woking, Surrey, one of the greenest buildings in the UK, surrounded by trees and gardens.
