 
        
        Head Housekeeper – Vaughan Thomas Ward, Warneford Hospital, Oxford
We are recruiting a Head Housekeeper to join the Vaughan Thomas Ward at the Warneford Hospital in Oxford to manage the housekeeping team and ensure all service standards are met and maintained. The role is 37.5 hours per week, working various shifts including alternate weekends. The housekeeping team works closely with nursing staff to ensure a clean and safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors, and oversees catering provisions. The role also includes organising staff rotas, ordering supplies, and supervising and supporting direct staff.
Key Responsibilities
 * Ensure a clean and safe environment is maintained at all times for patients and staff, whilst managing a small team of housekeeping staff
 * Order supplies via the Trust E‑ordering system, manage team rosters and supervise staff
 * Staff training and induction
 * Record and retain all documentation required for food and cleaning services (e.g., temperature checks and cleaning task lists)
 * Regenerate frozen meals, recording temperatures at stages defined within the relevant wards
 * Report any damages or hazards that are present in patient rooms or ward areas to the ward clerk (e.g., burnt‑out light bulbs, broken furniture, fixtures)
