Talent Finance have been engaged to appoint an ambitious, commercially minded Finance Director for a fast-growing, and innovative organisation based in Poole.
This is a pivotal leadership role with genuine scope to shape long-term strategy, drive commercial performance, and play a major part in the next phase of the company’s evolution.
The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the CEO, you will take full ownership of the finance function, leading a capable team and acting as a trusted strategic partner to the Board. You’ll blend strong financial control with commercial insight, influencing decision-making and supporting sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities
* Set and deliver the financial strategy to strengthen performance, profitability and long-term resilience.
* Lead financial management across reporting, forecasting and planning, ensuring clarity and robust control.
* Provide forward-looking analysis and financial modelling to shape investment, pricing and contract strategy.
* Partner with the CEO and senior leadership team on strategic initiatives including M&A, capital investment and market expansion.
* Lead, mentor and develop the finance team, building capability and high performance.
* Build strong relationships with external advisors, investors and key customers.
About You
You bring financial depth, strategic vision and commercial drive, someone who can balance rigour with insight and help move the business forward.
You will offer:
* A recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
* Proven commercial finance experience in manufacturing, engineering, FMCG or distribution-led environments.
* This fantastic role would suit either an existing SME Finance Director experience (c.£50m turnover) looking for broader scope, or a senior finance leader with experience in a larger organisation and a desire for greater autonomy and Board impact.
* Strong technical foundations with advanced analytical and financial modelling skills.
* Confident, commercially astute decision-making with the ability to challenge and influence senior stakeholders.
* A collaborative, empowering leadership style with a track record of developing high-performing teams.
* Strong systems capability and a digital mindset, with high proficiency in Excel and ERP/CRM tools.
