Advert East Renfrewshire Council’s Community Learning and Development (CLD) service is data-driven, people-centered and outcome focused. CLD supports local people to come together to take collective action on issues that are important to them. The CLD approach empowers residents and creates stronger and more connected, thriving communities. In order to deliver improved outcomes in our most disadvantaged communities we are seeking two highly motivated, skilled and enthusiastic Community Workers. The successful candidates will be experienced in supporting community participation, developing self-sustaining, independent and effective community groups and building the resilience of communities. You will be professionally qualified in Community Learning and Development and have a proven track record of working with communities in a wide range of settings as well as working with partner organisation in the third and community sector. The post holder will be skilled at building relationships in communities, planning and delivering excellent work and evidencing its impact. This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. It is an offence therefore to apply if you are barred from working with children and protected adults. In addition to this, if you have lived or worked in any country outside the UK in the past 10 years, there may be a requirement for an overseas police check.
