Job Description

An excellent opportunity has arisen to join Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service in Lisburn as a Finance Business Partner. In this role, you will provide financial advice and insight to support strategic decision-making, helping to ensure resources are effectively allocated and financial objectives are met across operational and support areas. About the role:
1. £24.41 per hour
2. Lisburn HQ
3. 36.25 hours a week
4. Temporary, up to 6 months with possible extension

What you'll be doing in this role
5. To deliver a complete financial management service to specified Directorates within NIFRS and play a key role in the overall financial management of the organisation.
6. To oversee the financial governance of specified Directorates, ensuring financial regularity, compliance and value-for-money within a framework of excellent customer service and continuous improvement.
7. To support the senior management team within specified Directorates, reporting regularly to the Director as lead customer.
8. Ensuring Directorates’ senior management are provided with sound and challenging advice on their plans, using knowledge and data-led
9. insight to ensure value for money outcomes will be achieved, aligned to strategic objectives.
10. Work effectively with the Strategic Financial Management team to provide high quality, data-driven insight and intelligence.
11. To perform a lead role as custodian of NIFRS’s budget.
What you'll need for this role:
12. Have successfully completed the professional examinations and be a full, current member of a CCAB recognised body.
13. At least two years post-qualification* experience providing a comprehensive management accounting & analysis service to senior management.
14. Strong analytical ability with experience of analysing and interpreting financial information for the purposes of effective financial management, performance management and/or process improvement.
15. Experience of presenting financial information and advice to Senior Management in a clear and user-friendly manner in support of strategic decision making
16. Experience of exercising sound judgement in providing financial advice, balancing the need to challenge and support teams appropriately.
17. Strong IT skills to include experience using Excel at an advanced level.
18. Possess a current driving licence or have access to a form of transport that will permit the candidate to meet the requirements of the post in full.
19. As part of the reference checking and vetting process for this position you may be requested to undertake an Enhanced AccessNI Disclosure. Having a criminal record will not necessarily be a bar to obtaining a position
