Morson Edge are currently working with a growing, design-led placemaking consultancy to recruit a Principal / Associate Town Planner for their Cardiff studio.This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced planning professional with 8-10+ years' experience to take on a senior, client-facing role within a collaborative and multidisciplinary consultancy environment.The practice works across a broad range of sectors including residential, healthcare, education, regeneration, commercial, energy and mixed-use developments, delivering integrated planning, urban design and landscape solutions across the UK.The OpportunityThis role will suit an experienced Town Planner who is confident leading projects, managing client relationships and contributing to business development and fee generation.You will play a key role within the planning team, taking ownership of projects from inception through to determination while working closely with senior leadership and multidisciplinary colleagues.The successful candidate will have strong project running experience, commercial awareness and the ability to build trusted relationships with clients, consultants and stakeholders.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage a range of planning projects across multiple sectorsProvide strategic planning advice and manage planning applications and appealsAct as a key client contact and help develop new business opportunitiesManage project programmes, budgets and fee deliveryWork collaboratively with urban design and landscape teams to deliver integrated solutionsRepresent clients at meetings, consultations and stakeholder engagementsMentor and support junior members of the planning teamEssential Skills & ExperienceMRTPI qualified8-10+ years' planning experience, ideally within consultancyStrong understanding of the UK planning system and policy frameworkProven project running and client management experienceCommercially aware with the ability to contribute to fee generation and business growthExcellent communication, organisational and stakeholder management skillsProactive, collaborative and confident working within a fast-paced consultancy environmentWhat's on OfferSalary between £45,000 - £55,000 depending on experienceOpportunity to join a growing, employee-focused consultancyCollaborative and design-led working environmentClear progression opportunities within an expanding teamCardiff-based role with a primarily studio-based working culture and flexibility to work from home occasionallyOpportunity to work on nationally significant and high-profile projectsIf you are an experienced Town Planner looking to step into a senior, client-facing role within a growing consultancy, please apply with your CV for a confidential discussion.TPBN1_UKTJ
