Summary
Serve as a QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST (SHIPBUILDING) in the Quality Assurance Manager (Code 900Q), Production Department Analysis & Business Manager (900A), Production Resources Department Manager (Code 901), Production Resources Department (Code 900) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.
Duties
* Conduct audits, investigations, and special studies.
* Analyze and prepare written reports of findings with recommendations for corrective/preventive actions.
* Identify conditions which degrade the quality of shipyard work.
* Review training materials and assist in special quality assurance training classes.
Requirements
* Must be a US Citizen.
* Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
* Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS‑09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
* Experience working with naval shipyard policies and procedures.
* Experience utilizing knowledge of ship types, configurations and systems.
* Experience utilizing quality assurance concepts, principles and methodologies.
* Experience auditing, investigating and utilizing analysis methods and techniques.
* Experience gathering and analyzing data to generate reports for communication with management.
* Experience reviewing training materials and assisting in special quality assurance training classes for employees of the shop.

Education and Experience
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
* Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.
* Three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D.
* LL.M. degree that is related to the position being filled.
