About the job Chef (Care Home)
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Chef to join our care home team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing nutritious, high-quality meals that meet residents' dietary needs and preferences while ensuring food safety and hygiene standards are maintained. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
Monitor and manage food stock levels, placing orders as necessary while minimizing waste.
Supervise and support kitchen staff, ensuring efficiency and teamwork in meal preparation.
Ensure proper food storage, labeling, and rotation to maintain freshness and compliance with food safety standards.
Follow all health and safety protocols, including food hygiene and allergen awareness.
Proven experience as a chef, preferably in a care home, healthcare, or hospitality setting.
NVQ Level 2/3 in Professional Cookery or equivalent).
Knowledge of food safety regulations (Food Hygiene Certificate Level 2 or above preferred).
Passion for cooking and providing high-quality meals for residents.
Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and holidays.
