We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Senior Clinical Psychologist to join our well-established and dynamic Hospital Liaison Psychiatry service. This key role within the senior clinical team offers an exciting opportunity as we develop our services to CORE24.
We welcome applications from recently qualified Trainee Clinical Psychologists for a Band 7/8a preceptorship role. The successful candidate will start on band 7 and, with a development plan, progress to Band 8a. Please refer to the band 7 & 8a job descriptions and person specifications.
The Liaison Psychiatry Service
The service provides mental health advice and support to individuals in general hospitals across Kent and Medway. Referrals are accepted for individuals over 18 attending A&E or on medical/surgical wards. The team offers advice, support, or comprehensive mental and psychological health assessments, ensuring holistic care that considers both physical and mental health.
As a Clinical/Counselling Psychologist, you will deliver high-quality assessments and brief interventions, focusing on individuals in distress related to mental and physical health conditions. The role includes opportunities for consultation, supervision, reflective practice, and staff training within a multidisciplinary hospital team.
You will have the support to develop your practice while helping the team deliver flexible, high-quality services that provide quick, effective access and meet patient, carer, and public expectations.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
* Doctorate-level or equivalent BPS-approved qualification in Clinical/Counselling Psychology
* Experience in diverse clinical settings supporting individuals in acute distress
* HCPC registration
