Key Responsibilities of a Business Development Manager Lead Generation & Prospecting : Identify and qualify new business opportunities within targeted markets and customer segments. Utilize proactive strategies such as cold calling, networking, and attending industry events to generate qualified leads. Develop and manage a robust sales pipeline to support consistent revenue growth. Sales Process & Execution: Oversee the complete sales cyclefrom initial contact to deal closure. Collaborate with the Sales team to implement innovative sales tactics and campaigns. Utilise CRM systems to track customer interactions, manage the sales pipeline, and ensure accurate forecasting. Relationship Building : Build and nurture long-term relationships with potential and existing clients, ensuring high customer satisfaction. Understand client needs and tailor solutions to deliver exceptional value. Represent the company as a brand ambassador at industry events, trade shows, and networking sessions. Market Analysis & Reporting : Stay up-to-date with market trends, competitive analysis, and emerging business opportunities. Provide actionable feedback and strategic insights to the Sales Manager to refine sales initiatives. Consistently meet or exceed individual sales targets and contribute to overall team Objectives. Collaboration & Teamwork : Work closely with cross-functional teams including marketing, product, and customer success to ensure a unified approach to market expansion. Share best practices and insights to drive continuous improvement across the sales Team. Qualifications & Skills for a Business Development Manager : Experience : Proven track record in business development, sales, or a related field, ideally in a dynamic or startup environment, or a hunger to develop within an exciting startup environment. Ability to meet or exceed sales targets, ideally with experience in B2B sales and complex deal negotiations. Skills : Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
