ROLE: General Maintenance Operative
HOURS: 40 hours per week (Mon–Fri with shift rota and call-out requirements)

We're looking for a General Maintenance Operative who will support the delivery of planned and reactive maintenance within a secure custodial environment at HMP Millsike.

Role Responsibilities
1. The role involves completing planned and reactive maintenance and monitoring of all prison fabric within scope.
2. You will conduct tasks in compliance with Company Safety Policy, Procedures, relevant Codes of Practice, NR, and Statutory Regulations, ensuring adherence to the Company's and Clients' Permit to Work Systems.
3. You will liaise with engineers and subcontractors, develop a detailed knowledge and understanding of site engineering services, and support best working practices.
4. You must complete all work-related documentation accurately and on time, coordinate connections to existing plant/systems, and use and maintain O&M Manuals and quality procedures.
Required Qualifications
5. Apprenticeship or equivalent, IOSH or equivalent, C&G/BTEC Mechanical and Electrical Building Services Engineering Parts 1, 2 and 3, NVQ Level 3 (multi-skilled engineering), C&G F Gas or equivalent, HVAC or gas equivalent, or C&G /2 18th Edition IEE regulations.
6. Previous relevant experience providing electrical maintenance services in a large, complex environment.
7. Basic to intermediate IT skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook, with experience updating central data systems

What we are looking for
11. Be a UK citizen, Commonwealth citizen with indefinite leave to remain (not through marriage), or EEA citizen
12. Hold a valid and in-date passport with no restrictions on your stay in the UK
13. Provide appropriate Right to Work documentation (biometric card with valid passport where required)
14. Have resided continuously in the UK for the past 3 years (no trips longer than three months)
15. Not have spent more than 3 months overseas at any one time in the past 5 years
16. Be willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS check, 5-year referencing and Counter Terrorist Check (CTC) clearance
17. Not currently be bankrupt
