Job Description
As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently assembling, inspecting and testing high quality fluid system assemblies based on customer requirements. This includes preparing components using CNC tube-cutting machinery, bending tubes to specified tolerances, working with piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), technical drawings, and written work instructions to deliver leak-tight, high-quality assemblies that meet or exceed our customer standards.
Duties & Responsibilities:
* Building & putting together machine sub-assemblies
* Precision building of special purpose machines
* Must be able to work very tight tolerances
* Prepare and complete all fabrication work in accordance with the latest revision of customer specifications, P&IDs, 2D/3D CAD drawings, and BOMs.
* Safely set up and operate tube-bending equipment to meet exacting tolerances.
* Ensure assemblies meet drawing specified tolerances and quality standards before proceeding to testing.
* Previous experience of working with Swagelok or compression fittings would be an added advantage.
* Must be able to read and understand engineering drawings & schematics.
* Must be able to use various hand tools such as spanners, screw drivers, allen keys as well as pipe bending tools.
* Health & SafetyComply with all health and safety requirements, including the proper use of PPE and machinery.
* Identify and report potential hazards and near misses to the Manufacturing Supervisor.
* Participate in daily audits, risk assessments, and toolbox talks to promote a safe work environment.
Qualifications (Essential):
* Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an engineering/manufacturing/fabrication environment.
* Ability to operate and program CNC tube-cutting machinery.
* Proven ability to read and interpret 2D/3D CAD drawings, P&IDs, and BOMs.
* Familiarity with welding and orbital welding processes (as applicable to the product lines).
Qualifications (Preferred):
* HND or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
* Welding qualification (orbital or standard) and/or other fabrication-specific certifications.
* Training or certifications in lean manufacturing or process improvement methodologies.
