General information Reference 2025-2335 Function Onshore – Asset Job title Plater Job description We are currently seeking candidates for 2 year fixed term positions at Hinkley Point C location. We would be looking to deploy in January and March 2026. This role will be responsible for carrying out plating and fabrication activities to the required specification, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity in line with nuclear safety culture at site. Key Deliverables: Interpret and apply technical drawings and specifications to fabricate and assemble metal components and structures that meet project and nuclear quality standards. Mark out, cut, shape, and weld metalwork to achieve precise tolerances and finishes Assemble and install fabricated components to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of work packages to schedule. Inspect and verify completed work to confirm compliance with safety, quality, and technical requirements, and to support right-first-time delivery. Maintain compliance with all site safety, quality, and environmental standards to support a positive nuclear safety culture and minimise risk to self and others. Participate in daily safety briefings, toolbox talks, and pre-job briefings to ensure awareness of hazards, changes in work scope, and promote safe working practices. Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work area to minimise hazards and support operational efficiency. Report hazards, incidents, non-conformances, and improvement opportunities to supervisors and relevant stakeholders to support continuous improvement and regulatory compliance. Collaborate with supervisors, inspectors, and other trades to resolve technical issues, coordinate activities, and ensure smooth workflow across interfaces. Profile Qualifications and Work Experience: Essential: Level 3 Apprenticeship or Diploma in Plating, Fabrication, Welding, Structural Steelwork, Shipbuilding, or Metalworking (or equivalent) Essential: ACE Card Level 3 in Plating (or equivalent) Essential: CCNSG Safety Passport Essential: Experience in fabrication and assembly of metal components in a high-risk or nuclear environment Essential: Experience working as part of a team to deliver to safety and quality specifications Desirable: Connected Competence (https://connectedcompetence.co.uk/disciplines/) Job Specific Knowledge: Essential: Understanding of fabrication processes, materials, and quality standards Essential: Knowledge of nuclear safety culture and site-specific requirements Skills: Essential: Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications Essential: Effective communication and engagement skills Essential: Attention to detail and commitment to safety Essential: Ability to plan and organise work to meet deadlines and project requirements.
