Data Engineer – Hybrid in Bolton – up to £70,000

As a Data Engineer, you will design, build, and operate data pipelines and storage layers within Microsoft Azure. You will work with both structured and unstructured data to support analytical insight and operational decision-making.
You’ll collaborate closely with developers, analysts, and clients, contributing to fast-moving projects while remaining focused, adaptable, and solution-oriented.
Key Responsibilities
1. Design, build, and enhance data pipelines using ETL and ELT approaches
2. Develop and maintain data lakes, data warehouses, and lakehouse solutions in Azure
3. Manage SQL and NoSQL data stores, including Azure SQL and Cosmos DB
4. Automate data infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code tools
5. Monitor and maintain data quality, security, and governance standards
6. Optimise performance through query tuning and efficient resource usage
7. Build integrations with internal systems, external data sources, and APIs
