Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for an Environment & Sustainability Advisor to join our Power T&D work winning team based in Derby. As an Environment & Sustainability Advisor you will provide support and advice for operational teams on all aspects of environmental management, developing environmental documentation, meeting legal and company standards and helping deliver a culture of continual improvement. You will understand and work with Clients and Regulators to ensure their environmental requirements are complied with. Support with tender responses to support our bid teams. We're looking for someone who can provide support with tenders for work and so an understanding of environmental planning and permitting is and advantage. What you'll be doing Provide advice and support to operational and bid teams on environmental matters Identify the need for environmental management, mitigation and sustainability plans. Maintain relationships with regulators, clients and subcontractors. Ensure the environmental management system is maintained in line with changing standards and legislation and Client requirements. Ensure tender responses reflect compliance with environmental legislation and coach teams in applying controls and mitigations. Who we're looking for Understanding of environmental planning and permitting (essential) DCO/Planning experience Strong knowledge of environmental management and sustainable development. Educated to degree level in Environmental Science or Environmental Management. Practical experience and knowledge of environmental legislation, ecology and archaeology mitigation, environmental licences and consent applications and regulators. Understanding of ecological and archaeological matters and environmental law. Commercial awareness.
