Virtual School Training, Partnership and Communications Manager

Employment type: Permanent
Grade: D – £45,091 – £51,356
Consultation grade: subject to formal evaluation under the Pay Equity Review
Working hours: 36.5 hours per week
Workplace: Hybrid – home working with one day per week based at Council House

Birmingham Virtual School is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Training, Partnership and Communications Manager to play a pivotal role in managing the contracts of our central offer for children and young people known to social care, and in further development and maintenance of our service communications, including website content and materials for children, families and professionals.

This is a strategic and outward-facing role, responsible for leading the Virtual School’s central training offer and our Enrichment Offer for our children and young people. You will be developing and managing key partnerships and commissioned provision, and ensuring that our work, impact and priorities are clearly communicated to schools, professionals, children and families.

You will work closely with senior leaders, education and social care colleagues, schools and external partners to ensure that both our high-quality training and co-produced central offer, our guidance and information is accessible, impactful and aligned with the Virtual School’s service plan and statutory responsibilities.


We are looking for someone who:

* Has significant experience in training development, partnership working and stakeholder engagement
* Understands the educational landscape for children in care, previously looked-after children and those known to social care
* Has experience of commissioning, contract management or managing external providers
* Is confident in communicating complex information clearly to a wide range of audiences
* Can evidence strong strategic planning, evaluation and reporting skills
* Is highly organised, collaborative and able to work across professional boundaries
