Description The role NEXT operates a world-class warehousing and logistics network that supports a global online customer base, over 500 retail stores, and our growing Total Platform business. As a Finance Analyst, you will sit at the intersection of our logistics operations and the wider finance team. You will be based at our Elmsall site, joining a team of 25 colleagues who are all focused on delivering the data and insight needed to keep our operations moving forward. This role isn't just about desk-based analysis; you will spend time in the operations to understand the complexities of our warehouses and use that knowledge to drive real understanding of our key costs. What you’ll take on Drive Operational Insight: You will provide weekly reporting on cost performance against our plans and participate in weekly calls with the operational management team to discuss these results. Manage Financial Reporting: Prepare and complete monthly accounting entries, budgets, and forecast updates specifically for the Total Platform logistics operation. Support Business Growth: You will be involved in financial modelling for potential new Total Platform clients and provide the commentary needed to support client billing. Influence Profitability: Your monthly commentary will focus on the impact of logistics on Total Platform profitability, helping the team understand the "why" behind the numbers. Collaborate Across Finance: Support the wider logistics finance team with general requirements, including balance sheet preparation and investment appraisals. What you’ll bring Professional Foundation: You are a part-qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, or ACA) with a strong sense of commercial awareness. Technical Skills: Advanced Excel skills are essential for this role. If you have experience with SQL, that is a significant advantage. Analytical Mindset: You have an eye for detail and an analytical approach to solving problems. Communication and Energy: You are enthusiastic, ambitious, and have the communication skills needed to influence stakeholders and make a difference.
