Sandwell Council’s Democratic Services Division is seeking a professional, collaborative and highly organised individual to join the team as a Civic and Member Support Officer. This role provides high-quality, confidential and flexible support to Elected Members, helping to ensure the effective functioning of democratic services and excellent support for Members in the delivery of their duties.

You will work in a fast-paced political environment, supporting Members with enquiries, casework and development activity, while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, discretion and customer care.


In this role you will:

* Provide confidential, professional and responsive support to Elected Members
* Manage Member casework from initial enquiry through to resolution, ensuring timely and high-quality outcomes
* Work collaboratively with internal services and external partners to resolve enquiries effectively
* Support Member development activity, including induction and ongoing learning opportunities
* Contribute to service improvement initiatives and the effective delivery of democratic services

This role requires initiative, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities while building positive working relationships with Members and colleagues.
