Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled Data Solution Architect to lead the design and delivery of scalable, secure, and high-performing data platforms within the Azure ecosystem. This is a long-term engagement working in a hybrid London setup, suited for someone who can combine hands-on expertise with strategic architectural thinking.
Key Responsibilities
Architecture Design
* Design end-to-end data architectures using Azure services such as Azure SQL, Synapse Analytics, Databricks, and Data Lake Storage
* Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with enterprise standards
Data Modelling & Management
* Develop and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models
* Support both analytical and operational data use cases
Azure Infrastructure & Integration
* Build and optimize data pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF) and ELT/ETL frameworks
* Define efficient data storage and processing strategies
Governance & Security
* Implement data governance, cataloguing, and lineage using Microsoft Purview
* Ensure compliance with security, privacy, and regulatory standards
Stakeholder Collaboration
* Translate business requirements into technical architecture and solution designs
* Work closely with engineering, analytics, and business stakeholders
Performance & Cost Optimization
* Monitor Azure environments and optimize for performance and cost efficiency
Azure Data Platform Expertise
* Hands-on experience with ADF and Databricks (pipelines, workflows, clusters)
SQL Expertise
* Advanced SQL skills for performance tuning, troubleshooting, and optimization
Required Skills & Experience
* Strong Azure data platform experience (ADF, Synapse, Databricks, Data Lake)
* Proven background in data architecture and modelling
* Experience building and optimizing ETL/ELT pipelines
* Knowledge of data governance and security frameworks
* Advanced SQL proficiency
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
