We are seeking an experienced Public Health Data Analyst to join our integrated Sexual Health and HIV Service, supporting the delivery of a large, complex, locally commissioned Public Health contract.

This is a specialist analytical role embedded within a community and population-health focused service, working closely with clinicians, operational managers, commissioners, and Local Authority Public Health teams. It is not a generic data analyst post — the role exists to support the unique performance, quality, and health-inequalities focus of sexual health services.

About the role

You will lead on the analysis, interpretation, and reporting of sexual health and HIV data to support:

• Public Health outcomes, health equity, and population-level insights

• Service planning, evaluation, and continuous improvement based on interrogated data

• Commissioner reporting and assurance processes for project/research-based work

The post plays a critical role in supporting new and evolving Public Health priorities, including HIV prevention (PrEP), STI innovation, TB testing initiatives, and reducing inequalities in access and outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse complex datasets relating to sexual health activity, outcomes, inequalities, and service utilisation using tools such as Power BI.

• Support delivery of contractual KPIs, quality indicators, and system-wide reporting requirements, through extensive data interpretation.

• Translate data into clear insights to inform operational, clinical, and strategic decision-making

• Work collaboratively with Public Health teams within the Local Authority and wider system partners to provide wider public health landscape insights

• Ensure data quality, validation, and appropriate interpretation within a sensitive clinical context

About you

You will have:

• Significant experience in data analysis within healthcare or Public Health

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets and trends

• Experience producing reports for commissioners, senior leaders, or system partners

• An understanding of Public Health, population health, or health inequalities (or a strong willingness to develop this)

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain data to non-technical audiences

Experience of sexual health, HIV, or commissioned community services is highly desirable but not essential.
