We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Food Technology Teacher to join a successful Design &; Technology Department.
The successful candidate will deliver engaging and inspiring Food Technology lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, supporting students to develop vital practical cookery skills, nutritional knowledge and an understanding of food science and safety. Beginning September 2025.
Duties as a Food Technology Teacher:
* Teach Food Technology to KS3/KS4.
* Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality lessons that cater for a range of abilities.
* Develop and adapt resources to inspire creativity and independent learning.
* Ensure high standards of food hygiene, health and safety are maintained at all times.
* Monitor, assess, record and report on students’ progress and attainment.
* Contribute to the wider life of the department and school, including extracurricular activities, clubs or competitions.
* Manage and organise practical sessions, ingredients and equipment effectively.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues to support curriculum development and departmental priorities.
Ideal Food Technology Teacher:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
* Specialism in Food Technology, Catering, or related subject area.
* Experience teaching Food Technology at secondary level.
* Strong subject knowledge and excellent practical cookery skills.
* A genuine passion for inspiring students in food preparation and nutrition.
* Excellent classroom management and organisational skills as a Food Technology Teacher.
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
* Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undertake one).
