Job Summary
To lead, manage and coordinate all aspects of the practice, motivating and managing staff, optimising efficiency and financial performance, ensuring the practice achieves its long-term strategic objectives in a safe and effective working environment. Through innovative ways of working, lead the team in promoting Equality Diversity and Inclusion, quality and continuous improvement, confidentiality, collaborative working, service delivery, learning and development and ensure the organisation complies with UK legislation and both NHS and CQC regulations.
Surrey Heath Community Providers Ltd offers a 365‑day, 52‑week service delivery across some services, and as part of that we offer a 7‑day a week service from 08:00 hrs to 20:00 hrs. You may be required to work evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays as part of your normal working hours, as per the needs of the business.
Main Duties
* Oversee day‑to‑day operations of the practice, ensuring staff achieve their primary responsibilities.
* Maintain compliance with all relevant CQC guidelines, identifying issues and improving processes wherever possible.
* Ensure the practice maintains compliance with its NHS contractual obligations.
* Collaborate with the finance team to oversee financial management, supporting strategic budgeting and income streams.
* Monitor contract performance, key deliverables and expiry dates to mitigate risk and avoid service disruptions.
* Identify opportunities to improve workflows and efficiency through better use of clinical systems (e.g. Rapid Health, EMIS and X‑On).
HR Lead for the Practice
* Direct line management
* Recruitment and retention of staff

* Staff inductions
Finance
* Maximise income at all times and discharge all financial responsibilities in a timely manner.
Premises
* Maintain general upkeep of the surgery.
* Manage procurement of equipment, supplies and services contracts.
Information Technology and Systems
* Ensure compliance with IT security, cyber security, data security and IG. Oversee procedures to ensure compliance with all relevant information and data legislation such as GDPR, patient confidentiality and Caldicott Guardian compliance.
Miscellaneous
* Other duties decided upon by the Federation Leadership from time to time.

Upper Gordon Road Surgery is supported by a strong, diverse and experienced clinical team, including ten salaried GPs, clinical pharmacists, paramedics, an advanced nurse practitioner and a dedicated nursing team. Qualifications
Essential
* 4 GCSEs (C and above) including English and Maths or equivalent
* Good standard of education with excellent literacy and numeracy skills
* Leadership and/or management qualification
* AMSPAR qualification
Desirable
* Educated to degree level in healthcare or business
* Educated to Masters degree level

* At least 2 years practice management experience
* Experience of managing accounting procedures including budget and cash‑flow forecasting
* Experience of working in a healthcare setting
* Experience of managing large multidisciplinary teams
* Experience of performance management including appraisal writing, staff development and disciplinary procedures
* Experience of successfully developing and implementing projects
* Experience of workforce planning, forecasting and development
* NHS and/or primary care general practice experience
* Relevant health and safety experience
