Visiting Lecturer We’re keen to hear from qualified Solicitors and/or Barristers from across the UK. As we continue to grow, we’re looking to expand our bank of Visiting Lecturers to support our Law School. While we welcome applications nationwide, we are particularly interested in individuals who can teach at the following campuses: Sheffield Newcastle Oxford Brookes London Moorgate Online Birmingham Leeds Nottingham Bristol As a Visiting Lecturer, you will work for the University of Law on an hourly rate basis on a worker contract. Reporting to a member of the Law School Management Team, you will be providing tuition across the University of Law course portfolio including the BPC, SQE, Law Conversion Programmes, LLB, Professional Development, Academic Masters law courses and/or other University courses to the best possible standard. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about engaging with students through teaching and assessment within an academic setting, alongside other professional or personal commitments, or who are seeking a flexible work schedule with limited contact hours. Your duties will include activities based at our University of Law or satellite campuses, or conducted remotely. You will enjoy being challenged (by students and course content in equal measure) and be able to adapt to the different needs of students and methods of course delivery. You will be eager to share your expertise, and the role will include marking in-course assignments and final assessments, as well as support students and dealing with queries. As a Visiting Lecturer you will: Teach and assess across The University of Law BPC, SQE, Law Conversion Programmes, LLB, Professional Skills Course/Professional Development, Academic Masters courses and/or other University courses. This will include teaching and assessing students across a range of written and oral skills and giving individual feedback on student performance. We are looking for individuals who are/have: A qualified Solicitor and/or Barrister with practice experience and enthusiasm for teaching or lecturers with substantial teaching experience in legal higher education Organised and can prioritise their own workload Confident and articulate presentation skills Punctual, with good time management Ability to work independently and as part of a team, whilst recognising when advice / input needs to be sought Demonstrates proficiency in managing and navigating IT systems to support efficient academic and administrative processes. The hourly rate for this role is up to £71.39 per hour for teaching, inclusive of preparation, associated marking and responding to student queries.
