Transport First Line Manager
Join the Transport team at ArrowXL in Wigan, United Kingdom. Working hours are 14:00‑22:00, 40 hours per week on a 5/6 rota.
Overview
Lead a team of delivery drivers and transport staff to ensure customers receive the best quality service while maintaining operational efficiency and safety.
Responsibilities
* Lead and motivate the transport team, coaching and developing Team Leaders as required.
* Plan resources, utilise the fleet efficiently and control costs while ensuring compliance.
* Take charge of legal and safety compliance within the transport function.
* Identify opportunities for improved efficiencies and implement changes.
* Ensure that colleagues are fully trained in all areas, especially driver CPC, service delivery standards and product installation.
* Make prompt decisions that protect customer service and the delivery schedule, staying commercially focused.
* Manage on‑site resources (colleagues, vehicles and equipment) to meet changing customer needs.
Qualifications
* At least 2 years’ experience as a Leader or Supervisor in a transport operation.
* Good knowledge of Road Transport Regulations and a national CPC.
* Compliance with OD licence requirements.
* Full UK driving licence.
* Demonstrated experience improving transport operations and introducing operational excellence.
* Strong people skills with the ability to influence, coach and develop.
* Ability to work in a changing environment with daily pressure to deliver on time.
