Childrens Support Worker
We are looking for a specialist experienced Support Worker to join our team.
Supporting vulnerable children and young people in crisis.
A dedicated and passionate childrens support worker with commitment and understanding, delivering high levels of support, creating safe environments and offering a deep understanding of trauma and how it impacts behaviours.
What you can expect
* Provide day to day support relating to activities, appointments and family contact.
* Engage and encourage the child or young person to join in with activities.
* Provide accurate reports and information to support the development of goals and care plans.
* Play a critical role in the safeguarding and well-being of the child or young person.
What you will bring
* Experience supporting children and young people in a residential setting.
* Confident working with colleagues at times of heightened behaviours using de-escalation techniques.
* Experience making decisions and taking action in challenging situations.
* Daily and accurate daily record keeping.
* Calmness during crisis situations such as aggression, self harm and destructive behaviours.
* Understand how trauma and diagnosis can impact behaviours of children and young people.
