This role is based 5 days a week at our Shirebrook HQ.
We seek a Data Protection Manager to advise on managing personal data diligently. You will manage two Data Protection Advisors and assist the business daily with personal data management, ensuring compliance with global data protection regulations and advising on data aspects of corporate acquisitions. You will be a subject matter expert, horizon-scanning for new privacy regulations and collaborating with senior management on regulatory inquiries.
Responsibilities include:
* Partnering with internal departments to make Data Protection relatable and understandable.
* Providing expert advice on supplier due diligence and data subject rights.
* Reviewing policies and exploring new areas like AI.
* Managing data due diligence for third parties and integrating acquired businesses.
* Leading on personal development and performance management for your team.
* Having at least five years’ experience in a mid-level data protection role, ideally within retail, financial services, or a multidisciplinary environment.
* Building effective relationships with non-technical stakeholders.
* Possessing strong knowledge of UK GDPR, PECR, and European data protection laws.
* Demonstrating analytical skills, flexibility, and creativity in solutions.
* Being diligent, detail-oriented, proactive, and a team player.
* Thriving under pressure with challenging deadlines.
