The Managed Cloud Technical Services team is looking for a security minded Cloud Technical Architect to join our UK‑based architecture community, supporting secure, regulated, and sovereign delivery environments.
This role blends technical architecture leadership with deep information security expertise. You will design, govern, and assure secure‑by‑design solutions across cloud, on‑premises, and hybrid platforms, ensuring that security, risk, and compliance requirements are embedded throughout the full solution lifecycle.
You’ll act as a trusted technical authority, working closely with delivery teams, engineers, security stakeholders, and customers to translate business and regulatory requirements into robust, defensible technical architectures.
As a Cloud Technical Architect, you will:
Architecture & Design
* Design and govern secure technical architectures for cloud, on‑premises, and hybrid environments.
* Translate business, delivery, and security requirements into detailed solution architectures.
* Produce and maintain architecture artefacts, including logical, physical, and security diagrams.
* Act as technical design authority for solutions with security or regulatory impact.
Security Architecture & Risk
* Perform architectural security reviews and technical risk assessments.
* Identify security gaps and design appropriate controls and countermeasures.
* Ensure security controls are integrated into platform, network, and application designs.
* Balance security rigor with delivery practicality and operational sustainability.
Cloud & Platform Security
* Architect and assess SAS & secure solutions on Azure and AWS.
* Ensure cloud architectures meet regulated and sovereign deployment expectations.
Stakeholder & Delivery Engagement
* Partner with delivery leads, engineers, and operations teams to ensure secure designs are implemented effectively.
* Act as a trusted advisor to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
Standards, Documentation & Mentoring
* Develop and maintain architecture standards, patterns, and reference designs with embedded security principles.
* Create and maintain high‑quality technical and security documentation.
* Mentor engineers and junior architects, raising security and architecture maturity across teams.
* Ensure all applicable security policies and processes are followed to support the organization's secure software development goals.

Required qualifications
* 5+ years’ experience in technical architecture, information security, or closely related roles.
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
* Strong experience designing and reviewing secure system architectures.
* Experience across cloud (Azure and/or AWS), hybrid, and on‑premises environments.
* Technical experience with Security architecture and risk assessment, Technical Architecture, ITIL V6 Awareness, SIEM and log management platforms and Enterprise service management tools (e.g. ServiceNow)
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Comfortable operating as both architectural authority and collaborative partner.
* Ability to hold or be eligible to obtain UK Secuirty Clearance (SC or higher)
* Proof of right to work in UK ir required to be considered for this role
* Equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.

* Experience with Azure security tooling and Azure Policy.
* Scripting or automation skills (e.g. PowerShell).
* Experience delivering or assuring solutions in regulated or government environments.
