Location: Northampton (alternatively Goole or Kettering)
Contract Length: 6 Months (with potential to extend or become permanent)
Start Date: Targeting mid-September 2025
Working Hours: Full-time, 40 hours/week (Hybrid – 1–2 office days/week)

Randstad Sourceright, a leading provider of RPO & MSP Recruitment Services are looking for a Finance Assistant to join our Rolling Stock business, supporting our Inventory Finance function. You’ll work closely with the Commercial Manager and Cost Accountant to help manage forecasting, reporting, and inventory-related financial processes across our sites in Northampton, Kettering and Goole.
Imagine This (Job duties):
* Support the monthly forecasting process, including proposing reasonable adjustments
* Assist with month-end close (journals, accruals, and provisions)
* Conduct reconciliations between financial systems (SAP) and operational data
* Analyse budget vs actual variances and resolve discrepancies
* Verify and resolve goods receipt/invoice mismatches (GR/IR)
* Assist with ad hoc financial reporting and project support (mainly inventory-related)
* Contribute to digitalisation and finance process improvement initiatives
What You Need to Bring (Experience required):
We’re seeking someone who is detail-oriented, proactive, and confident working in a fast-paced environment.
Essential:
* Part-qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) or qualified by experience
* Minimum of 2 years in a finance-related role
* Strong understanding of financial statements and general accounting principles
* Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of tasks
* Excellent communication and analytical skills
Desirable:
* Experience working with SAP
* Prior exposure to inventory or warehouse-related finance
* Experience in transport, logistics, or manufacturing sectors
